Update on status of preparedness and readiness for COVID-19 prevention and control

  • To-date, there is one confirmed cases of COVID-19 from Eritrea are officially reported.
  • Eritrea Preparedness and developed 
  • Fever Screening equipment (Flir thermal imaging camera) installed at the Asmara international airport 
  • Eritrea started  PCR testing  for COVID-19 confirmation
  • IPC materials procured and distributed to the designated hospitals and other relevant sections
  • Training on PCR for Lab technicians conducted
  • Place of Isolation  and treatment  of COVID-19 patients designated
